img_2382Dr. Weeks was born in Dothan, Alabama and moved to Mobile, Alabama when he was 7 years old. He graduated from UMS-Wright Preparatory School in Mobile. He worked each summer during high school at an ophthalmology clinic and surgery center in Mobile where his father was the administrator. His high school interest in physics led him to decide on an engineering major at Auburn University, although his ultimate ambition was to practice medicine. After graduating magna cum laude in chemical engineering, Dr. Weeks then moved from Auburn to Birmingham for medical school at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. During his medical training, ophthalmology was clear to him to be the most interesting field and most suited to his engineering background. In 2005, Dr. Weeks began his four-year ophthalmology residency training at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. In 2009, it was an easy decision for Dr. Weeks and his family to move back to the Auburn/Opelika area to practice medicine.

Dr. Weeks enjoys an ophthalmology practice in Auburn and Opelika that focuses on cataract surgery and eye disease management. Dr. Weeks is board certified by American Board of Ophthalmology. He is an active fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Medical Association of the State of Alabama, and the Alabama Academy of Ophthalmology.

Outside of work, Dr. Weeks is a member of First Baptist Church of Opelika and teaches a first grade Sunday school class with his wife, Christi. He avidly follows all things Auburn with his wife and two boys, Jackson (14) and Garner (10). His family enjoys spending time together actively outdoors.
